METU Graduate Program in Conservation of Cultural Heritage
Call for Pre-Applications: Assistant Professorship, Associate Professorship, and Professorship
The Graduate Program in Conservation of Cultural Heritage at Middle East Technical University (Department of Architecture) invites pre-applications for full-time academic positions at the levels of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. We seek outstanding candidates with expertise in the conservation of cultural heritage who are committed to excellence in both research and teaching.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct high-quality research and establish an independent research program.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department of Architecture and Graduate Program in Conservation of Cultural Heritage.
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate students.
- Collaborate on interdisciplinary projects and contribute to departmental initiatives.
Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate strong academic merit through internationally recognized research and publications. METU places particular emphasis on international academic experience and mobility, encouraging trajectories that avoid institutional inbreeding. Assistant Professor applicants should show clear post-PhD research independence, while more senior candidates are expected to demonstrate sustained scholarly leadership and impact. All candidates must meet English proficiency requirements and successfully complete an academic evaluation process. For international candidates, the enrollment process is facilitated through an expedited administrative track, due to separate bureaucratic procedures applicable to international applicants.
